Tymoschuk To Bayern? Van Bommel Is Not Amused
Lost in an avalanche of Andrei Arshavin rumors is the certainty that Zenit and Ukraine captain Anatoliy Tymoschuk is seeking a move to a big European club. Zenit manager Dick Advocaat has conceded he expects the midfielder to suit up for a different club before the end of the transfer window. The 29 year old had been linked with the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid, but the current favorites to land Tymoschuk appear to be Bayern Munich. And that does not sit well with Mark van Bommel.
The Bayern captain is in the last year of his contract and has been upset at the club for only offering him a one season extension. Bayern’s rumored €14 million move for Tymoschuk, who plays the same position as Van Bommel, put the Dutchman on the defensive:

Tymoschuk may come to Bayern, but he will be very comfortable sitting on the bench. I will make sure of this! So much money for a reserve player is just wasteful!
Van Bommel then picked up a dumb red card, yelled at his manager, and flipped off the fans before storming out of the press conference.

Oh please. I want to laugh. Tymoshchuk already 6 years ago could have proven that he is the best defensive half back in the world. I personally wish him to go to a better club than Munich. But wherever he goes, he will never sit one single minute on a bench…

Yevy: I have to agree with the previous comment as well but hopefully Anatoliy will stay at Zenit.
