Ukraine is Afraid of Iran
In a move that shows a lack of courage, Ukraine has pulled out of its scheduled friendly with Iran on March 1.
Ukraine football federation deputy president Vladimir Lashkul doesn’t hide the reasons why in this quote to AFP:
“Oleg Blokhin (Ukraine’s manager) told me that he would prefer a less strong opponent to face in an early warm up match,” Lashkul said. “He also said that a long flight to Iran may prevent his side from performing at their top level.”
Huh? Talk about your lame excuses. Flying from Ukraine to Iran is not a long flight. Ducking an opponent because they are too strong is simply a sign of weakness. I bet if you asked the Ukrainian players they would say that they would play Iran anytime, anywhere. They aren’t afraid of a mid level Middle Eastern team.
This, my friends, has more to do with politics. Ukraine is so eager to be the lapdog of the US and Europe that it has bowed to political pressures to isolate the government in Tehran. What a disgrace.

“mid level Middle Eastern team” ? Who the hell do you think you guys are, Brazil? You have reasons to be afraid, last time Iran played Ukraine was in 2003 and Iran beat your team in Kive.

I agree with the Canada guy. Blokhin is afraid; in fact, it’s more likely the losers atop the Ukrainian Football Federation - politically minded losers such as Hrihory Surkis. What a shame to have a criminal running the national football federation! Ukraine vs. Iran would’ve made for a fun, worthy contest for both sides. Everyone else is playing a friendly on March 1, it seems, except now for Ukraine. One of their team colours is yellow for a reason, it seems.

[...] Ukrainian football fans have their own problems with these cancellations too. Amazingly enough many of the reasons Ukrainians are sighting are identical to what we Iranians think are behind lack of friendly matches. We are all saying the same exact things about our coach and the federation. [...]

Ahahahah….We’re not afraid of Iran..he just wanted a weaker opponent, so he could test players out and still get a good result, instead of possibly losing like vs Iran..Plus Iran isnt exactly the safest place in the world to be right now…and this

Is nonsense in itself.
