Ukraine might be making its World Cup debut this summer, but one person who should be familiar to football fans is coach Oleg Blokhin. One of the best players to ever don the red jersey of the Soviet Union, Blokhin scored 37 goals for the national team.

His career started at Dynamo Kiev where he played for 18 years amassing an amazing 211 goals in 432 matches. From there he moved to a season at Vorvaerts Shtayr (Austria) and a season at Aris Limassol (Cyprus).

Blokhin began coaching the Ukraine national team in 2003. In 2005 he was named one of the top ten coaches in the world after he helped the team to qualify for the World Cup.

It will be great watching Blokhin on the sidelines this summer!
