Group of Death!!
Ukraine have been given the honour of being drawn in the so called ‘group of death’ for the Euro 2008 qualifiers. With two former European champions and Euro 2000 finalists in Italy and France set to take pride of place few, if any, would fancy there chances of breaking into the top 2 in the group. However, this group also contains the technically gifted and Shevchenko inspired Ukraine.
Traveling to the Ukraine is probably one of the most difficult fixtures in modern day international football and I expect them to take advantage of any slip ups by France or Italy. With argubly the best striker in the world, Andrei Shevchenko, leading from the front and players like Andriy Vorobey to back him up it would be no surprise to see them qualify in first place. France and Italy will take points of each other and Ukraine will win all their home games and beat either of the big 2 on their home patch.
Being an Englishman it also makes me smile to see the hapless Scots in this group. I get the impression that Scotland think there a big team and now they’ve been drawn in the group of death they can see how good they really are…or not ha ha.
With the rest of the group made up of Lithuania, Georgia and the Faroe Islands its expected that the leaders of this group will come from the big 3.
But before all of this we’ll see Ukraine crowned as the World Champions this summer in the land of efficiency.

Well James, surprises always happen, the victory of the scotts in the Six Nations tournament against France yesterday was one of them. The victory of Northen Ireland against England was an other one.
Of course,I agree with you to say than Scotland is an insignificant country in terms of football dominance, but are you sure than the scotts think so highly of themselves?I thought than arrogance was reserved to the english and myself because I’m french.

ITALY AND FRANCE WORLD CUP 2006 FINALISTS. WILL UKRAINE KNOCK ONE OUT? I THINK FRANCE IS OUT BECAUSE THEIR POWER GENERATION IS OVER, BUT ITALY”S AND UKRAINE”S ARE JUST STARTING.
