Blokhin again critical

Ukraines National Team coach, Oleh Blokhin, has again become critical of his teams preparations for the World Cup.

“I will not lie to you. I think we have only decided on about 40 percent of the team. I am alarmed by the level shown by our players, by the level of the team in general,” Blokhin said in an interview with Ukrainian weekly Korrespondent.

“There is very little time left. We must have two models of play available : one for the Spanish National Team, and one for the Saudi National Team. The great Valery Lobanovsky said it took two to five years to create a team. But we will give it a try.”

He also said he was going to look at players on some of Ukraines youth teams, which is good for them, in my opinion. Although only one, a Dynamo Kyiv product, Artem Milevsky, even has a chance to see concrete playing time, the others will gain valuable experience they will not soon forget while in Germany. He also said although he would like to take a few of the players from the youth team, he doesn’t want to take too many, as he doesn’t want to weaken them too much for the U21 European Championships in Portugal.

Fellow Group H opponent Saudi Arabia’s market has performed second best with 444% growth (a good thing for its players’ bank accounts), while the markets in Holland and England have grown the least of any of the industrialized countries in the tournament.
