BERLIN (AP) — Ukraine coach Oleg Blokhin refused to say Saturday whether star striker will play in the team’s World Cup opener against Spain.

Ukraine coach Oleg Blokhin praised his players on Wednesday for correcting shortcomings in their preparations for the World Cup ahead of their last warm-up game.

“If everything goes well, he will be able to play in the warm-up match against Luxembourg on Thursday,”Blokhin told the Russian daily Sport-Express, referring to Shevchenko. “I hope Rebrov will also be in proper shape by then.”
